Lois Huyett Krumsiek, 100, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. David L. Huck will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will play "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You" and "Peace in the Valley." Pallbearers will be Darrell Ahrens, Conny Ahrens, Timmy Ahrens, Trent Croka, Mike Krumsiek and Richard Williams. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church in Marshall or Big Bend Retreat in care of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home.
Born March 7, 1905, at Miami, she was the daughter of the late Robert M. Huyett and Mollie S. Kile Huyett. She moved to Marshall in 1916 and attended and graduated from Marshall High School. She graduated from Missouri Valley College in 1926, then moved to Kansas City and worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for several years. On Oct. 18, 1941, in Kansas City, she married Edwin Carl Krumsiek, who preceded her in death May 22, 1985. She returned to Marshall and was later employed at the Marshall Habilitation Center from 1959 to 1963. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, LMWC, Daughters of the American Revolution and AARP.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Clara McAfee of Marshall; nine stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one stepson, Robert L. Krumsiek; two stepgrandsons; one stepgreat-grandson; one brother and five sisters.
