Doris E. Allen, 64, of Slater, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at St. Paul Freewill Baptist Church in Slater. Elder Wellington J. Gorham will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Private burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
Born June 28, 1941, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Banks and Lorine Wright, who survives of Kansas City. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Slater. She worked for 35 years at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, where she was assistant activities director.
Additional survivors include four sons, Bing Smith Jr. of Higginsville, Andre Smith and Darrell Allen, both of Marshall, and Ron Allen of Slater; three daughters, Kandy Miller of the state of Arizona and Jackie Allen and Carla Allen, both of Slater; three brothers, Robert Banks of Kansas City, Kan., John Wright of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Everett Banks of Marshall; three sisters, Beverly Wright of Lee's Summit, Augustine Gooch of Kansas City and Blanche Anderson of Marshall.
