Norma E. Breshears, 85, of Richmond, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at Lexington Care Center in Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Virgil "Jag" Breshears Jr., Andy Palmer, Skip Perkins, Steve Meierer, David Brotherton and T.J. Breshears. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Camp, Jerry Brotherton, Philip Palmer, Joel Palmer and Chris Carper. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Marshall. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Born Sept. 28, 1920, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Allie Roscoe Newton and Nora Lenna Yates Newton. On Jan. 12, 1935, she married Harley Breshears, who preceded her in death April 2, 1996. She had lived in Richmond since 1997, previously living in Norborne and Marshall. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Studler of Marshall and Virginia Jackson of Richmond; one son, Virgil Breshears of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Velma Breshears; four brothers; two sisters and one granddaughter.
