Mary Catherine Moore, 70, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Sept. 22, 1935, in St. Mary's, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Jacob James Alflen and Philomena Margaret Seitz Alflen. On April 9, 1956, she married Charles A. "Chuck" Moore, who preceded her in death May 23, 2004. She was raised in the Kansas City area and lived most of her life in Saline County. She was owner and operator of Mary Lynn's Restaurant in Sweet Springs and was a homemaker. She was a Catholic.
Survivors include three sons, Ted Moore and wife Terry of Sweet Springs, Steve Moore and wife Jennifer of Elk Grove, Ill., and Paul Moore of Sweet Springs; four daughters, Dena McMillin and husband Don of Sedalia, Donna Sua of Sweet Springs, Linda Zaragoza and husband Kenny of Sweet Springs and Susan Moore and Lincoln of Sweet Springs; three sisters, Clara Morgan of Norwood, Hertha "Vi" Arnold of Boonville and Pat Pryor of Sweet Springs; one brother, Michael Alflen of Holton, Kan.; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
