Bernice Lehane Crain, 87, of Prairie Village, Kan., formerly of Marshall, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home, 226 S. Odell, Marshall, MO 65340.
Born July 24, 1918, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence William Wittman and Christina Bernadine Schuster Wittman. She was a graduate of Mercy Academy in Marshall. On June 26, 1940, she married Daniel F. Lehane, who preceded her death April 1, 1980. In 1985, she married Charles Crain, who preceded her in death in 1992. She had lived in Prairie Village since 1985 and was a salon receptionist and homemaker. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Roeland Park, Kan.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Lehane Peterson of Oak Grove; two sons, Daniel F. Lehane Jr. of Prairie Village, Kan., and Michael J. Lehane of Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Marguerite Kouba of Houston, Texas, Marie Barr of Marshall, Catherine Berberet of Long Beach, Calif., and Ruth Weislocher of Marshall; one brother, William Wittman of Jefferson City; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
