V. Jean Thomas, 76, of Bevier, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, at Macon Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Matt W. Arni Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church or the Foster Grandparent Program at Macon County Head Start.
Born Dec. 29, 1928, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Edmund H. Ohlendorf and Ardella Anna Schmahlenberger Ohlendorf. She had lived in Bevier the last six years moving from Marshall. She had worked for the Foster Grandparent Program at Macon County Head Start and retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center.
Survivors include one son, Clint Thomas and wife Betty of rural Marshall; three sisters, Edsie Arni and Mary Crawford, both of Marshall, and Catherine Smith of Bevier; four grandchildren, Clark Thomas, Dennis Thomas, Barbara Ann Thomas and Jason Thomas; one great-grandson, Jacob Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jacob Ed "Bud" Thomas, and two sisters in infancy.
