Ail Slaughter, 85, of Longwood, formerly of Houstonia, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Presbyterian Church of Longwood. Leo Burke will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dale Slaughter Jr., Darrell Slaughter Jr., Bob Slaughter, Bryan Slaughter, Brandon Green and Scott Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be Tasha Green, Ashley Million and Taylor Slaughter. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Moore Funeral Home in LaMonte. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Longwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Child Safe of Sedalia.
Born Aug. 24, 1920, at Zelma, he was the son of Adolph and Mary Shilton Slaughter. On Oct. 30, 1948, in St. Louis, he married Bonnie Leonberger, who survives of Longwood. He was a Baptist and a retired farmer.
Additional survivors include two sons, Darrell Slaughter of Longwood and Dale Slaughter of Sedalia; one daughter, Carolyn Green of Marshall; one brother, Walter Slaughter of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Beulah Christian of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
