Family farms celebrated

Recognizing families that have kept farms for more than 100 years, the Saline County Commission and Saline County Extension Council hosted the annual Century Farm Celebration Thursday night at the Saline County Courthouse.

This year, special recognition was given to the Clemens family by officials including Presiding Commissioner Becky Plattner. The Clemens family has the oldest registered farm in Saline County.

The evening also served as an opportunity to add to the Extension Leaders honor roll and recognize the Missouri State Fair Farm Family from the county and Extension donors.
