Joseph B. "Bill" LaRose, 77, of Lenexa, Kan., died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Veterans Medical Center in Kansas City.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Vernon Maxted will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Marshall Senior Center.

Born Sept. 24, 1928, in Saline County, he was the son of the late William M. LaRose and Mary Emma Parker LaRose. On April 19, 1952, he married Loretta Aulgur, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Marshall area most of his life, moving to Lenexa in 1990. He was business manager/comptroller for Missouri Valley College, chief appraiser for the Saline County assessor's office and broker/owner of LaRose Real Estate and Construction Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a Baptist.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Allison Humar and husband Eric of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Evelyn "Peck" Thomas of Marshall; one brother, Ralph LaRose of Sugar Creek; two grandsons, Jason O. Generally and Justin L. Generally; one great-grandson, Jalen Generally; two stepgrandsons, Ryan Humar and Tyler Humar; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Warren LaRose and Paul LaRose, and two sisters, Wilma Bryan and Marie Stanfield.
