Edward S. Reed, 52, of Slater, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Frank Senter will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia.
Born March 1, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of the late Conrad D. and Patricia Scott Reed. On July 13, 1995, in California, he married Linda J. Fleetwood, who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, with a degree in business administration. He worked as a chef at the Arrowhead Lodge at Lake of the Ozarks and The Other Place in Slater. He returned to Slater from Eldon in March 2005.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Marcia Everets of Russellville and Shannon Gatschet of Independence; one son, Andrew Reed of Jefferson City; three stepsons, Wayne Russell of Slater, James Russell of Centertown and Joseph Fleetwood of Jefferson City; six grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother.
