Arval Lee Spencer, 53, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at New Life Open Bible Church. Rev. Jeff Tyler will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rodney Walters, Chuck Lancaster, James Cruzan, Roy Martin, Robert "Boomer" Smith and Steve Beard. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home in Sedalia. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery in rural Sedalia. Memorials are suggested to the Arval Lee Spencer Fund in care of the funeral home.
Born Nov. 1, 1951, at Willow Springs, he was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Spencer and Mildred Beasley Spencer. He graduated from Willow Springs High School. On Aug. 28, 1971, in Willow Springs, he married Laura "Lori" Blakemore, who survives of the home. He worked for Duke Manufacturing Co. in the maintenance department.
Additional survivors include two sons, Matthew Spencer and wife Donna of Sedalia and Marcus Spencer and wife Rebecca of Sedalia; four brothers, Charles Spencer of Deepwater, Earl Spencer of Spearman, Texas, Carl Spencer of Gravois Mills and Vaughn Spencer of Greenville, Miss.; one sister, Vera Greer of Willow Springs; six grandchildren, Jessica Spencer, Joshua Spencer, Stephanie Spencer, Danielle Spencer, David Spencer and Alaina Spencer.
