Donald L. Blackwell, 75, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Cremation. Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Ridge Park Cemetery. Rev. Vernon Maxted will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born Oct. 13, 1929, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Noah Blackwell and Maud T. Short Blackwell. On Feb. 4, 1950, in Marshall, he married Zella M. Gibson, who survives of the home. He had lived in Saline County his entire life and had worked for Horman's Meat Company, Cargill Seed Division for many years, Missouri Valley College in the maintenance department and Ridge Park Cemetery.
Additional survivors include two sons, Donnie Blackwell of Marshall and Ronnie Blackwell of Plant City, Fla.; one daughter, Wanda Jasper of Marshall; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Blackwell of Branson; one sister, Betty Blackwell of Branson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
