Ruth Katherine Wyssmann, 90, of Concordia, formerly of Alma, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma. Rev. Lee Hagan will officiate. Organist Barbara Sander will play "Nearer My God to Thee," "Beautiful Savior" and "Take My Life and Let It Be." Pallbearers will be Raymond Wyssmann, Roger Wyssmann, Jeff Bergman, David Domsch, Ron Domsch and Mark Lyons. Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Alma. Memorials are suggested to The Lutheran Hour or Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Concordia.
Born Oct. 17, 1914, in Concordia, she was the daughter of the late Carl Aegidius Wyssmann and Martha Augusta Gerken Wyssmann. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Guild and Messiah Lutheran Church. She taught first and second grade for 10 years at Trinity Lutheran School in Alma and one year in Kansas City. She was a caretaker for the Kemper family for nearly 20 years.
Survivors include three sisters, Lucille Lyons of Orlando, Fla., Marion Wyssmann of Independence and Marjorie Barrett of Spring, Texas; and one brother, Rev. Robert Wyssmann of Springfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Domsch; and four brothers, Harold Wyssmann, Rev. Lambert Wyssmann, Victor Wyssmann and Carl Wyssmann.
