Mabel Hazel Nye Weaver, 88, of Kansas City, formerly of Malta Bend, died April 16, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.

She requested her body be donated to science at KU Medical Center. Memorial graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at Malta Bend Cemetery with Rev. Darlene Payne officiating. Memorials can be made to Malta Bend Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home of Marshall.

Born Nov. 28, 1914, in Malta Bend, she was the daughter of the late Louis Nye and Purlia Ann Little Nye. She had lived in Kansas City most of her life and was a hosiery buyer. She was a Methodist.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Webb and Evelyn Schutty.
