Sakie Evelyn Kreisel, 73, of Houstonia, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at Houstonia Baptist Church in Houstonia. Rev. Ron Zamkus will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the Sweet Springs ambulance department or Houstonia Baptist Church.

Born Aug. 26, 1932, in Pryor, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Estel Jackson Venable and Anna Louise Yeager Venable. On May 24, 1950, she married Carl Dean Kreisel, who survives of the home. She had lived in the Houstonia area most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Hughesville Baptist Church, Houstonia Extension Club, several saddle clubs, had served on Buena Vista Board and had been active in 4-H.

Additional survivors include five sons, Michael Dean Kreisel of Houstonia, Thomas Stephen Kreisel of Houstonia, Dennis Allen Kreisel of Houstonia, Daniel Ray Kreisel of Sedalia and Jeffrey Dale Kreisel of Houstonia; one daughter, Karen Ann Brandt of LaMonte; four brothers, Jack Venable of Amarillo, Texas, Clay Venable of Warsaw, Keith Venable of Sedalia and Gene Venable of Gulfport, Miss.; one sister, Pat "Naomi" Belsha of Huntsville, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
