Harold Allen Tichenor, 84, of Napton, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. W.B. Tichenor will officiate. Visitation be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery in Napton. Memorials are suggested to Zoar Cemetery.
Born June 3, 1921, in Saline County, he was the son of the late James Leslie Tichenor and Annie Lee Shannon Tichenor. On Dec. 27, 1941, he married Omea Ruth Ireland, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Napton community his entire life and retired in 1986 after 35 years as a rural mail carrier. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater.
Additional survivors include his children, Esther Irene Craft and husband Robert of Brooklyn, N.Y., Daniel Allen Tichenor and wife Carol Jo of Castro Valley, Calif., and Nancy Lee Wildermuth and husband Kurt of Flagstaff, Ariz.; one sister, Elizabeth Deer of Marshall; seven grandchildren, David Wildermuth, Greg Wildermuth, Jim Wildermuth, Elizabeth Craft, Sarah Lawrie, Bill Tichenor and Mark Tichenor; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Floyd William "Bill" Tichenor; one sister, Louise Anderson; and two brothers, John Lewis Tichenor and Bill Tichenor.
