Marcus "Skip" Vesser, 88, of Harrisonville, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at Camden Health Center in Harrisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Born March 20, 1917, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Marcus Vesser and Ethel Call Vesser. On Aug. 23, 1959, he married Nettie L. Walker, who survives of the home. He had lived in Harrisonville since 2002, previously living in Sedalia and Marshall. He had worked for International Shoe Company and showed horses. He was a member of the Teamsters' Union. He was a Baptist.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Lesia Shadwick of St. Joseph and Michelle Cryderman of Harrisonville; one stepson, Douglas Renno of Waynesville; one brother, William "Bill" Vesser of Marshall; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Vesser.
