John Mitchell "Mickey" Johnson, 60, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home. Burial with graveside military services will be at Richmond Memory Gardens in Richmond. Memorials are suggested to the Lexington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4052.
Born Oct. 14, 1944, in rural Richmond, he was the son of the late John W. and Ethel Wrisinger Johnson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany. He later joined the Missouri Army National Guard for 20 years, retiring in October 2004. He was a mechanic in the ordinance shop at the Marshall National Guard Armory. He was a lifelong Richmond resident and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4052 in Lexington.
Survivors include companion, Marjorie Stuart of Richmond; one son, Kevin R. Johnson of Jamesport; one daughter, Buffy Albertson and husband Mitch of Excelsior Springs; two brothers, Richard Johnson of Richmond and Warren G. Johnson of Richmond; one sister, Alice "Kack" Haynes of Richmond; and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard "Doc" Johnson and Wilbur "Jake" Johnson.
