Lady Vikings drop HAAC opener
The Missouri Valley College women's volleyball team got better at some aspects of its game, but struggled at others Tuesday during its Heart of America Conference home match against Benedictine.
The Lady Ravens (1-3, 1-0 HAAC) enjoyed a .400 to .150 edge in kill percentage during their 30-27, 30-20, 21-30, 30-21 victory at MVC. However, the Lady Vikings had their moments, including a .250 attack rate -- still not great, but above their average -- during the third game and only one serve-receive error throughout the contest.
Junior Jennie Toronto had 15 kills and 12 digs and junior Cassie Keenan added 10 spikes and four blocks for Valley. Sophomore Cori Sandage contributed 13 digs and junior Holly Crail produced 31 assists and a pair of ace serves.
The Lady Vikings (1-3, 0-1) will have another week off before hosting league foe Culver-Stockton next Tuesday.
