Leissa Lewis, 53, of Slater, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at her home.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at Slater Christian Church in Slater. Rev. Vernon Maxted will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. Internment will be in Slater City Cemetery. Weiker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born Oct. 9, 1951, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas Lewis and DuAyne Officer Lewis, who survives of Slater. She was a licensed beautician. She owned and operated New Images Salon in Slater for a number of years before retiring due to illness. She was a lifelong area resident.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Tim Lewis and Kyle Lewis, both of Slater; three sisters, Kit Mitchell of Slater, Lori Hinnah of Slater and Abbey Lewis of San Francisco, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Blaine Lewis.
