Jane Cassiday Stone, 68, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of North Kansas City and Marshall, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at her home after an 11-year battle with cancer.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. James C. Long officiated. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the charity of donor's choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Oct. 30, 1936, in Gainesville, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Cassiday and Mary Doane Cassiday, who survives of Marshall. On Sept. 11, 1955, in Marshall, she married Jim Stone, who survives of the home. She was a graduate of Missouri Valley College and did her postgraduate work at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She taught and coached in the North Kansas City School District for 30 years. After retirement, she and her husband moved to the state of Florida from North Kansas City. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church in North Kansas City, Missouri Retired Teachers' Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Alpha Xi Delta social sorority and United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Additional survivors include one son, Todd Stone of Cape Coral, Fla.
