JoAnn Perkins, 70, of Columbia, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at First Assembly of God in Marshall. Rev. Dale Bean will officiate. Pallbearers will be Freddie C. Perkins, Tony Perkins, Jake Perkins, Bill Perkins, David Smith and Bill Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Dillon, Shawn Perkins, Michael Parks, Chuck Perkins, Josh Larimore and Gary Bell. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Born Dec. 6, 1934, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late James Warford and Nellie Duncan Warford. On April 16, 1952, she married Charles Coleman Perkins, who preceded her in death May 9, 2004. She had lived in Marshall for many years and worked at the Marshall Habilitation Center for over 18 years as a developmental assistant III and for Four Seasons Home Health as a home health care worker in Sedalia until 2002. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Marshall.
Survivors include five sons, Charles M. Perkins, Fred Perkins and wife Penny, Darrell R. Perkins and Tony Perkins, all of Columbia, and Charles Dean Perkins and wife Barbara of Marshall; three daughters, Kim Bell and husband Gary of Holts Summit, Shelley Deweese of Columbia and Michelle Dillon and husband Jon of Marshall Junction; two brothers, Bill Turner and wife Becky of Marshall and David Smith of Sedalia; one sister, Judy Brockman and husband Charles of Hardeman; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
