Man slightly injured in car fire
A Sweet Springs man suffered minor burns after his vehicle caught fire on U.S. Highway 65.
According to a report released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred Friday around 3 p.m. just north of County Road 304.
The MSHP report state 60-year-old Benjamin Hall was driving north when he saw smoke coming from the dash of his 1984 Chevrolet. As he pulled to the right shoulder, the vehicle caught fire.
Hall suffered minor injuries from hot plastic while attempting to put out the fire. He was taken by patrol car to Missouri Valley Physicians in Marshall, where he had a previously scheduled appointment.
Hall's vehicle was reportedly totaled by the fire.
