Conrad A. Samson, 78, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Plano.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, with visitation to follow until 3:30 p.m. at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born July 6, 1927, in Blue Lick, he was the son of the late Conrad Alfonse Samson and Martha Lousa Benedick Samson. On Oct. 22, 1960, in Kansas City, he married Margie Licktieg, who survives. He had lived in the Dallas/Plano area since 1969, moving from Marshall. He retired in 1997 as owner-operator of the family business, Samson Produce, which had been in operation since 1971. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano. He was also a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Serenaders Song Group.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Phylis Seymour of Parker, Texas, Martha Hammontree of Frisco, Texas, and Rosanne Green of Bonner Springs; one brother, Benedick Samson of rural Marshall; one sister, Edith Jo Gieringer of rural Marshall; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Phillip Samson, Ben Samson, Ray Samson, Clarence Samson and Bill Samson.
