Harry Plattner Jr., 74, of Galveston, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005, at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. William W. Harlow will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Malta Bend Cemetery.
Born June 27, 1931, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Harry Andrew Plattner Sr. and Jessie Horton Plattner. He married Sandy Johnson, who survives of the home. He had lived in Galveston since 1987, moving from Marshall.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Pamela Woodland of Indianola, Iowa, Georgia Clemons of Columbia, Hope Newsom of Mexico, Jaime Johnson of Galveston and Teresa Yokley of Marshall; eight grandchildren, Keenan Ashenfelter, Meganne Woodland, Savannah Clemons, Clayton Clemons, Holly Newsom, Karley Newsom, Jaiden Cooper and Brett Wilson; two nieces, Kelly Fulton and Becky VanVactor; and one nephew, Andy Plattner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Plattner.
