Iola M. Brouk, 81, of Jefferson City, formerly of Saline County, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Born Oct. 27, 1923, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Otto Heins and Laura Bauer Heins. On June 14, 1941, she married Herbert J. McGuire, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1996. On July 9, 1999, she married Arvel L. Brouk, who survives of the home. She was a graduate of Sweet Springs High School. She had lived in Jefferson City since 1997, moving from St. James, and was a homemaker.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Sandra Ballenger of Jefferson City; one son, Larry McGuire of Lawrence, Kan.; one stepson, Christopher Brouk of Dixon; two stepdaughters, Beverly Salemie of Lanman, Md., and Merle Merrille of St. Louis; one brother, Harold Heins of Sturbridge, Mass.; four sisters, Winifred Weigant of Shawnee, Okla., Ellanora Bokelman of Oak Grove, Laura Jean Herdman of Lake Lotawana and Lillian Kottman of Grain Valley; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; seven stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Heins; and two sisters, Esther Sears and Marjorie Watts.
