Ida Belle Slagle, 94, of Marshall, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Vernon Maxted will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will play "How Great Thou Art" and "Precious Memories." Pallbearers will be James Eding, Don Gibson and Tony Gibson. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.

Born March 6, 1911, in Edwards, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Dickson and Bessie A. James Dickson. She married Jewell E. Goans, who preceded her in death. She later married Hugh Forth, who preceded her in death. She later married Rev. Troy Slagle who preceded her in death. She was a resident of Marshall most of her life and had been employed at International Shoe Company for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Goans Gibson of Kirksville; one brother, Lawrence W. Dickson of Marshall; one sister, Florence L. Meads of Marshall; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
