Edward A. Hansen, 74, of rural Marshall, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at his home.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at a later date in the state of Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice or family choice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Feb. 28, 1931, in Chokio, Minn., he was the son of the late Virgil Hansen and Ethel Faulk Hansen. On July 30, 1954, in the state of South Dakota, he married Lillian E. Ames, who survives of the home. He had lived in rural Marshall since 1990, moving from Wilson, N.C., previously living in Sioux City, Iowa. He retired from John Morrell and from Tyson's. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany, and a member of Slater American Legion Post 78.
Additional survivors include four sons, Michael Hansen and Terry Hansen, both of South Sioux City, Neb., and Richard Hansen and Thomas Hansen, both of Sioux City, Iowa.; one daughter, Linda Hansen of the home; one stepson, William Ames of Sioux City; one sister, Hazel Stevens of the state of Iowa; one stepbrother, Steve Bell of the state of Iowa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Hansen; one brother, Floyd Hansen; and one sister, Joyce Harms.
