Wanda Arlene Wiskur, 79, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Specialty Hospital of Mid-America in Overland Park, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel in Sedalia. Rev. Tony Chapman and Rev. Carl Gravatt will officiate. Pallbearers will be Daniel Richardson, Neil Wiskur, Derek Wiskur, Hadley Wiskur, Clayton Wiskur, David Wiskur, Aaron Hampy, Shawn Hampy, Justin Wiskur and Ian Wiskur. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Farnsworth, Sam Farnsworth, Scott Farnsworth, Keith Farnsworth, Mark Farnsworth, Gary Farnsworth, Orbie G. Farnsworth, Wayne Jordan, Harold Dean Jordan and Laverne Jordan. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery near Hughesville. Memorials are suggested to Hughesville Baptist Church.
Born April 4, 1926, in Quick City, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Bertie Hixon Farnsworth. On Feb. 28, 1944, in Warrensburg, she married Robert Leo Wiskur, who survives of the home. She was a member of Hughesville Baptist Church. She was active in 4-H and her children's school activities. She was a homemaker and resident of the Hughesville community for 47 years.
Additional survivors include five sons, Robert E. Wiskur of Smithon, Dwight Wiskur of Sedalia, Doyle Wiskur of Gilliam, Van Wiskur of Pleasant Hill and Roger Wiskur of Hughesville; three daughters, Sheryl Richardson of Hughesville, Sonya Hampy of Sedalia and Deawn Hersini of Geneva, N.Y.; three brothers, Fern Farnsworth of Independence, Paul Farnsworth of Pleasant Hill and Gilbert Farnsworth of Tatamy, Penn.; one sister, Madge Bahannon of Granit Bay, Calif.; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Farnsworth and Orbie Farnsworth; one sister, Sylvia Jordan; one infant grandson and one infant great-granddaughter.
