Wally Martin, 75, of rural Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at her home.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. Rev. Gene Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Born Aug. 17, 1929, in Essen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Josef and Marianne Sterand. On April 3, 1956, in Nelligan, Germany, she married Tom Martin, who survives of the home. While living in Germany she worked at the American embassy and was a substitute school teacher. She had lived in rural Sweet Springs since 1970, moving from Mt. Leonard. She and her husband were co-owners and operators of Hilltop Texaco and Tom's Auto Salvage in Sweet Springs. She was a member of Sweet Springs Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Motor Home Association.
Additional survivors include two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather.
