Bertha H. Wade, 91, of Marshall, died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Dave Huck will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Malta Bend United Methodist Church or First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Born Dec. 15, 1913, in Hickory County, she was the daughter of the late Luther J. Simmons and Ethel Taylor Simmons. On April 30, 1930, in Marshall, she married Pheno Wade, who preceded her in death June 22, 2002. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Survivors include three sons, J.R. Wade of Marshall, James E. Wade of Kansas City and Larry Wade of Harlingen, Texas; one daughter, Arline Borchers of Marshall; one sister, Goldie McCain of Urbana; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one grandson.
