Memorial services were held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, Wash., Friday, June 17, for immediate family and for friends and acquaintances. Services were also held Monday, June 20, at Pinehurst Baptist Church, Everett, Wash. A vewing for the family viewing and separate viewing for friends and acquaintances was held. A memorial service honoring Moore's life was held June 20 at Pinehurst Baptist Church. Burial with full military honors was at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, Wash.
Born June 2, 1933, in Napton, he was the son of the late Orville Dean Moore Sr. and Celia Crispin Sanderson Moore. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn F. Formoso Moore in April 2003. On June 11, 2005, in Everett, Wash., he married Darlene Lucile Shaw. He was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran who retired in January 1974 after more than 20 years with the rank of aviation jet mechanic chief petty officer. He was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church in Everett, Wash., where he served as a deacon.
Additional survivors include four sons, Tony D. Moore of Crawfordville, Fla., William F. Moore Jr. of Monmouth, Maine, Michael E. Moore of Federal Way, Wash., and Timothy A. Moore of Everett, Wash.; two daughters, Sandra L. Cherry of Arlington, Wash., and Karin F. Vance of Everett, Wash.; three stepsons, Verlin Leigh, Matthew Evans and James Jack; five sisters, Viola M. Hays, Evelyn Nichols and Donna S. Moore, all of Marshall, Doris R. Dryer of Pittsburg and Celia McCleskey of Independence; one brother, Orville E. Moore of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Orville Dean Moore Jr.
