Nancy Jane Meyer, 81, of Miami, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Heckart-Gillespie Colonial Chapel in Sedalia. Rev. Dutch Boer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Juan Gonzales, Darren Snow, Jason Morgan, Jeffrey Beard and Delbert Priesmeyer. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.heckart-gillespie.com. Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery in Blackburn. Born Dec. 18, 1923, in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Nancy Jennings Peek. On Dec. 18, 1967, in Blackburn, she married Atwell Meyer, who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Peek of Miami and Arnold "Jim" Peek of Sedalia; three daughters, Sue Miller of Warsaw, Lillian Lindeen of Moleen, Ill., and Brenda Dierking of Higginsville; 13 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children at birth; one grandson and one granddaughter.
