Marvin H. Tiemeyer, 69, of Slater, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at Slater Christian Church. Debbie Roath will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and "One Day at a Time." Pallbearers will be Tom Boehner, Ron McCoy, Bill Crane, Larry Murdock, Earl Meyer and Philip Wymore. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Berlekamp, Robert Roder, Jackie Stark, Tom Harris, Joe Harris Jr., Henry Hunter, Ben Frazee, Dick Cook and Jerry Hitt. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Born July 22, 1935, in Triplett, he was the son of the late Carl H. and Clara Ireba Singleton Tiemeyer. On June 17, 1956, in Mendon, he married Lillian M. Masterson, who survives of the home. He was a 1954 graduate of Northwestern High School in Mendon. He was a member of Slater Christian Church and had resided in Slater since 1956, moving from Chillicothe. He was employed at Safeway, Smith's Food Bank and Slater IGA as meat market manager until his retirement.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Bethany A. Weiker and husband Jason of Slater and Jane M. LaRue and husband Dale of Slater; and two grandchildren, Lauren A. Weiker and Andrew J. Weiker, both of Slater.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Lloyd Tiemeyer and Gerald Tiemeyer.
