Burnie G. Jordan, 64, of Waverly, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Victory Christian Fellowship in Waverly. Rev. Jerry Curry will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at Gibson Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will be in Grand Pass Community Cemetery in Grand Pass. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association in care of Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, MO 64633.
Born Nov. 18, 1940, in Grand Pass, he was the son of the late Sidney Eugene and Rosie Ellen Smith Jordan. On March 12, 1962, in Newkirk, Okla., he married Billie J. Walden, who survives of the home. He attended school in Grand Pass and was employed in construction, as a deck hand on the river and as track foreman for Union Pacific Railroad for over 30 years. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship in Waverly.
Additional survivors include one son, Burnie G. Jordan Jr. of Waverly; four daughters, Joyce Willis of Waverly, Pamela Williams of Waverly, Jill K. Banks of Linn and Julie Baker of Waverly; two sisters, Betty Hambrick of Waverly and Margie Turner of Carrollton; and seven grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
