Sylvester Cornine Jr., 60, of Marshall Junction, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Walter Admire will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery in Cooper County. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
Born March 25, 1945, in Alton, Ill., he was the son of the late Sylvester Cornine Sr. and Mabel M. Buckley Cornine. On Dec. 4, 1981, in Marshall, he married Linda L. Long, who survives of the home. He was a resident of the Marshall Junction area for most of his life and had been employed at International Shoe Company for 40 years before operating a mowing service prior to his retirement.
Additional survivors include one son, Rodney E. Long of Gering, Neb.; two daughters, Sherry D. Hemme and Kristal G. Hampton, both of Sedalia; and eight grandchildren.
