Mary Kathryn Gumm, 79, of Denton, Texas, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2005, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Clifton City. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Oct. 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Henry S. Wittman and Theresa Lorenz Wittman. On July 18, 1947, in Tucson, Ariz., she married Robert Gibson Gumm. She worked with her husband in the insurance business for 30 years. She was a member of the Emblem Club at the Lady Elks of Hemet, Calif., St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, volunteered at the Marshall Habilitation Center in Marshall and attended Our Lady of the Valley Church in Hemet.
Survivors include one son, Robert B. Gumm and wife Donna of Denton, Texas; one sister, Jeanette Thomas of Marshall; four grandchildren, Lisa Kathryn Gumm, Robert J. Gumm, Devin Shembri and Garrett Shembri; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Cox; and several nieces and nephews.
