Dorothy K. Peterman, 80, of Marshall, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born Oct. 4, 1924, in Prairie Home, she was the daughter of the late Joseph P. Kennedy and Lula Gray Kennedy. She married Richard Delmont Langan, who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1958. On Dec. 26, 1988, she married Clayton Peterman, who preceded her in death March 30, 1991. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Arrow Rock Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Marshall Writers' Guild and several local bridge clubs.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Meekins and husband Dean of Bella Vista, Ark., and Pat Widergren and husband Bob of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three sons, Richard Delmont "Rick" Langan and wife Cindy of Marshall, Don Langan and wife Janice of Blackburn, and Mike Langan and wife Millie of Marshall; two sisters, Betty Jo Powell of Raytown and Lois Weber of Marshall; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
