Anna Gertrude Ash, 88, of Marshall, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at First Christian Church in Marshall. Rev. Mike Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Chapel in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
Born April 7, 1917, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Ivan Hammer and Anna M. Dickson Hammer. On Aug. 15, 1941, she married Warren F. Ash, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1936 graduate of Marshall High School. She was a sales clerk, secretary and bookkeeper for various businesses and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church, the New Century Sunday school class and the Lillie Bates Circle.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Janice Jones and husband David of Marshall and Debbie Squires and husband Jan of Charlottesville, Va.; two sons, William "Butch" Ash and wife Doris of Marshall and David Ash and wife Gloria of Kansas City; one brother, Ernest Ray Hammer of Marshall; 10 grandchildren, David Jones, Rick Jones, Ben Jones, Amy Jones, Alyson Jones, Kevin Ash, Julie Ash, Jennifer Squires, Lauren Squires and Aubrey Ash; two great-grandchildren, Gage Nitzschke and Keely Nitzschke; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Mizer.
