Leonard E. "Bob" Wilson, 89, of Slater, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Slater Presbyterian Church. Rev. Pam Sebastian will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Slater Presbyterian Church or Big Bend Retreat in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born April 21, 1916, in Hermitage, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and Sarah West Wilson. On Feb. 8, 1941, in Warsaw, he married Hildred Hickman, who survives of the home. He was a member, deacon, trustee and elder of the Slater Presbyterian Church. He was a retired electrician and lived in Slater for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 78 in Slater.
Additional survivors include one son, Douglas Wilson of Englewood, Colo.; two sisters, Shirley Sallee of Bolivar and Mary Ella Gilbert of Tifton, Ga.; and one grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
