Darliss N. Brown, 64, of Marshall, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Rev. Russ Johnson will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will play and sing "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers will be Myron Bigler, Myron Bigler II, Jamie Cornine, Belinda Galloway, Jimmy Galloway and Lewis Galloway. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall.
Born Jan. 19, 1941, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late George W. Bennett and Mary F. Highbarger Bennett. On Dec. 21, 1956, she married Bobby J. Brown Sr., who survives of the home. She was a resident of Marshall most of her life. She worked at the Marshall Habilitation Center for 23 years and then at the Georgia Brown Blosser Home until her retirement.
Additional survivors include one son, Bobby J. Brown Jr. of Houstonia; one daughter, Melinda Galloway of Marshall; one brother, Robert E. Hendrickson of Kansas City; two sisters, Elizabeth C. Fizer and Marylyn M. South, both of Marshall; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
