Unsafe at any speed

The Marshall Special Road District closed the Eastwood Street viaduct over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks early Friday. The Missouri Department of Transportation an-nounced the closure the same day.

The bridge was deemed unsafe by a MoDOT inspector earlier in the week, citing deterioration of the substructure, a press release stated. No time estimate was available as to when the bridge will be reopened or what repairs will be made.
