Charles Witcher "C.W." Jones III started his spiritual life on April 9, 2005, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2005, at 10 a.m. at their home in rural Rocheport. Interment will be at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.

C.W. was born on April 18, 1946, to the late Virgil and Mary Sue Jones of Armstrong. He is survived by his beloved wife Ina Ellen "Ellie" Gronemeier Jones; his devoted son Shawn Ryan and wife Melissa Jones of Warrensburg; sister, Carolyn Boatright; two nieces, Cindy Donnell and Melissa and husband Brad Vesser; three great-nieces, Mikayla, Morgan and McKenna Vesser, all of Nelson; and an aunt, Ruth Martin of Greeley, Colo.

C.W. was proudly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild.

C.W. was an accomplished showman, cattleman and auctioneer. He was nationally recognized for his announcing abilities of various equestrian events (NCHA, AQHA, IBHA, NRHA). He felt privileged to have served and developed friendships with people in the livestock industry.

C.W.'s lifelong accomplishments included being an instructor at the Central States Auction School, Inc., in Kansas City; serving as president of the State of Missouri Cutting Horse Association for the past four years, being inducted into the State of Missouri Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame in 2004; and receiving formal recognition for donating 10 years of his auctioneer services to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital charity auction, which was held during the Memphis Futurity at Memphis, Tenn.

C.W. was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, "Butsy" Jones and Jack Martin; and one great-niece, Caitlin Donnell.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorial contributions to NCHA-Cutters in Action Crisis Fund, Howard County Home Hospice or Hazel Grove Cemetery in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 174 Hwy. 5 and 240, Fayette, MO 65248.
