Donald G. Myers, 75, of rural Marshall, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial with graveside military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or Cambridge Masonic Lodge in Slater.
Born March 8, 1930, in Johnson County, Kansas, he was the son of the late Clay Bryan Myers and Daisy Belle Dunworth Myers. On May 2, 1956, he married Romyna Dixon, who survives of the home. He was a graduate of Ballard High School in Ballard. He had lived in Saline County most of his life, was involved in soil conservation the last several years, had worked for Quinn Construction in Marshall and helped build Truman Dam. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558, Cambridge Masonic Lodge and was a Methodist.
Additional survivors include three sons, Jim Myers of Marshall, Gary Don Myers of Lee's Summit and Mike Myers of Lee's Summit; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
