Gladys Spriggs, 77, of Kansas City, formerly of Marshall, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Carondolet Manor in Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Marshall. Rev. I.B.S. Groves will officiate. Friends may call from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday at H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Marshall.
Born May 24, 1927, in Mt. Leonard, she was the daughter of the late Rev. J.S. and Lacleda Allen Spriggs. She was a graduate of C.C. Hubbard High School in Sedalia and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir and church pianist. She retired from ConAgra.
Survivors include one son, David Spriggs Sr. of Kansas City; one sister, Dorothy Buford of Flint, Mich.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
