Clarence R. "Runt" English, 93, of Sweet Springs, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Sweet Springs Villa in Sweet Springs.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Born Dec. 10, 1911, in Pettis County, he was the son of the late George English and Sarah Rimel English. On Oct. 15, 1930, he married Juanita Fulkerson, who preceded him in death Oct. 27, 1987. He had lived in the Sweet Springs area a large part of his life and was a graduate of Sweet Springs High School. He was a parts salesman for many years, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a Mason.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Ann Huddleston of Emporia, Kan.; one sister, Ruth Hall of Sweet Springs; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clifton English, Ray English, Marion English and Chester English.
