Lloyd W. Heavin, 80, of Nixa, formerly of Sunrise Beach, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in Springfield. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial wil be in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund in Sunrise Beach.
Born Aug. 17, 1924, he was the son of the late Luther and Emma Heavin. On March 16, 1951, he married Julia Mae Heavin, who survives of the home. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach, a 32nd Degree Mason and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a guide on Lake of the Ozarks for many years. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Kaye McMullin and husband Rick of Nixa, Pam Singleton and husband Dennis of Martinsburg and Connie Montgomery and husband Bobby of Marshall; two sisters, Marie Stevenson and Faye Bates; two brothers, Wayne Heavin and Lee Roy Heavin; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Heavin, Martin Heavin and one in infancy; and one granddaughter, Mary Jo Montgomery.
