Margaret "Mizz Lewis" Isabel Lewis, 91, of Brunswick, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Brunswick Nursing Home in Brunswick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Father William Korte will officiate. Organist will be David Sturm. Vocalist will be Debra Sellers. Pallbearers will be Kay Penrod, Mike Penrod, Joe Thompson, Allen Thompson and Ronnie Thompson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salisbury City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Brunswick Nursing Home.
Born July 15, 1913, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late James Raphael and Ann McDonough Thompson. On Oct. 3, 1941, in Salisbury, she married Willie J. Lewis, who preceded her in death July 20, 1987. She was secretary to the president of H.O. Peet Company in Kansas City for 40 years, retiring in 1976. After her retirement, she and her husband moved to Exeter. Prior to her retirement, she also co-owned and operated Lewis Greenhouse in Salisbury. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Cassville and the Exeter Gardening Club.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Smith of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Thompson, Everette Thompson and Joseph Thompson.
