Minnie Irene Parker, 92, of Selma, Ala., formerly of Saline County, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. Walter Admire will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice.
Born Aug. 30, 1912, in Wellsville, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Alfred Franklin Coates and Cynthia Brooks Coates. On Dec. 24, 1930, in Miami, she married Rev. Paul Parker, who preceded her in death March 11, 1999. She had lived in Saline County most of her life, moving to her daughter's home in Selma, Ala., in August 1998. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Marshall. She and her husband served in the Assembly of God ministries for over 40 years. She also helped her husband in farming and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda M. Simmons and husband William of Slater, Linda P. Bartlett and husband James of Selma, Ala., and Leota F. Hanes and husband Jack of Nelson; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, one stepbrother, one stepsister and two grandchildren.
