Mark R. Cook, 52, of Marshall, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall. Rev. Douglas A. Dubisar will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the church. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery near Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Smith Chapel Cemetery Association in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Sept. 30, 1952, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Raymond H. Cook and Evelyn M. Gravatt Cook, who survives of Lee's Summit. On May 5, 1973, he married Sheila Shannon, who survives of the home. He was a 1970 graduate of Marshall High School. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he held various positions within the church. He had worked for I.C. & G. Railroad for 17 years and was owner and operator of EZ Green Turf Management Company and Tool Time Rental Company. He was currently serving as a city councilman in Marshall.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Green and husband Eric of Holland, Mich.; one son, Brian P. Cook and wife Lydia of Kansas City; two brothers, Mike Cook of Fremont, Neb., and Greg Cook of Carthage; two grandchildren, Micaela Cook and Abigail Green; and several nieces and nephews.
